This Tampa Bay lifestyle museum allows visitors a glimpse into the opulence of the Victorian era railroad resort. The Henry B. Plant building is aåÊquarter mile long and was originally built in the 1880‰Ûªs by a railroad and hotel magnate.

The Tampa Bay Hotel boasted luxurious services not found in hotels of the time. The 150 acre grounds housed an 18-hole golf course, hunting and fishing grounds, a racetrack, casino, exposition hall, and bowling alley to name a few.

The museum was established in 1933 to preserve the Victorian lifestyle represented by the hotel. In addition to 13 rooms holding the permanent collection, the museum hosts programs such as Sunday live theater, Annual Victorian Christmas Stroll, Picnic in the Park, The Great Gatsby Party, Museum tours, scholarly lectures and workshops. Field trips for school children are offered at the museum and they also have Antiques Evaluations Saturdays.

Hours:åÊTuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.
Sunday, 12 Noon to 5 p.m.
Closed: Mondays (Jan-Nov).
Closed: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Cost: January – November:
$10 for adults,
$7 for seniors,
$7 for students
$5 for children 4 – 12 years.
