This community service project is intended to introduce non-swimmers ages 5-11 to basic water safety and survival skills; some basic swimming moves will be covered as well.
Skills assessment and registration is REQUIRED- this is scheduled for Sat., April 23, from 4-6 pm. They can accept up to 80 children total. Kiddos will be hopping in the pool, and the process will go very quickly if they arrive in their swimwear. The pool is now heated! 30 minute group instruction sessions run each week, starting on Saturday, April 30 wrapping up on Saturday, May 21. Your child will be assigned to a time slot at registration. Max capacity is 40 children per time slot.
Please note – the majority of our volunteers are NOT certified swim instructors and have no WSI training. This program is not intended to replace professional swimming lessons. A certified water safety instructor and certified lifeguards will be on duty to oversee the safety of the program.
