K-Bar Ranch Community Tree Planting

Join Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department, and the City of Tampa Green Team as we plant 3,500 native seedling trees at K-Bar Ranch. This large-scale planting effort will help improve wildlife habitat, water quality, and Tampa’s urban forest for years to come.
Volunteer Information
- Volunteer check-in begins at 7:30 AM
- City and KTBB staff will begin setup at 7:00 AM
- No planting experience is necessary
- Volunteers will work in teams of 3 alongside City staff, Green Team members, or KTBB staff
- Seedlings will be planted using a simple planting tool called a dibble
- All tools, trees, and supplies will be provided
We Need Your Help
This is an ambitious one-day planting project that requires at least 75 volunteers to be successful (please only register if you can for sure make it out to the planting). The more volunteers we have, the faster we can complete the planting!
What to Wear & Bring
- Closed-toe shoes are required
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Bring a reusable water bottle
- Wear a hat and sun protection
- Be prepared for hot weather and insects
Safety & Amenities
- Water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray will be available
- Shade tents will be set up for cooling off and breaks
- Volunteers are encouraged to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed
- Portable restrooms will be available onsite
Important Note
The planting site is located in a remote area of New Tampa with limited facilities. Reliable volunteers who are ready to work hard and help us achieve this one-day goal are greatly appreciated.
