The 200-acre Fanning Springs State Park features a beautiful spring nestled along the Suwannee River. The popular crystal clear 72-degree, year-round springs provide a great way to cool off on hot summer days.
There is an area for canoe and kayak launching into the Suwannee River as well as a 2/3-mile-long hiking trail and birding opportunities. Visitors can enjoy grilling and picnicking under the majestic live oaks, kids can swing and run around at the playground and friends and family can have a friendly game of volleyball on the white sand volleyball court. They have a boardwalk that allows you to step back in time to old Florida as you stroll through a breathtaking cypress swamp with cypress knees standing 6 feet tall.
Pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet long and are not allowed in the picnic, swimming or cabin areas. The cooler winter months are not nearly as busy as their summer and make for a quieter more peaceful opportunity to explore the park.
