Sulphur Springs has a rich and diverse history, being home to many iconic buildings and sites. We opened the doors to our museum in 2006, as we partnered with faculty and students in University of South Florida’s Department of Anthropology, who helped us by performing extensive research, conducting oral histories with local residents, and providing other resources to support the foundation of the Sulphur Springs Museum and Heritage Center. In 2017, we opened in a new facility at the Mann-Wagnon Memorial Park, located off the scenic Hillsborough River, which marked a new era for the museum. The Museum aims to maintain and accentuate the historic importance of the neighborhood, contribute to its economic growth, and increase respect and preservation of its natural features.
