The museum is located in the former home of Al Lopez – the first Major League player from Tampa, and first baseball Hall of Fame inductee from Tampa – and is a home for celebrating many local past and present baseball greats. the museum covers more than 125 years of baseball heritage with permanent and rotating exhibits focused on Ybor City, West Tampa, and Tampa baseball.
Al Lopez, became Tampa’s first Major League player, and the first Tampa native to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. In this home, more than 80 professional players and baseball greats from Tampa are honored, along with the people and places who shaped them: the sun-soaked fields in West Tampa and Ybor City, World Series-winning Little League teams, coaches with deep rosters.
