Kids Can Nominate Their Mom!
Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re looking for something meaningful (and a little different), this is a great opportunity for kids to celebrate their moms in a big way.
Local nonprofit UrEsteem is inviting elementary and middle school students to participate in a special letter-writing contest designed to honor moms and mother figures in our community. We’re teaming up with them to help spread the word.
How It Works
Students are asked to write a heartfelt letter beginning with:
“Dear UrEsteem,”
In their letter, they should share:
- Why their mom deserves a special day out
- What makes her strong, inspiring, or amazing
- How she makes a difference in their life
There’s no need for anything complicated—just honest, thoughtful words.
Submit the responses through the Marvelous Mom’s Nomination form.
🎬 What Winners Receive
Selected moms will be invited to a Red Carpet Experience on May 9th, just in time for Mother’s Day. The event includes:
- 🎥 A private movie viewing at B&B Theatres in Wesley Chapel
- 🍽️ A catered lunch
- 📸 A red carpet photo opportunity
It’s a fun and memorable way to recognize moms who give so much every day.
📢 Important Details
- Entries must be submitted by May 1st
- Submit online through Family-Friendly Tampa Bay’s nomination form.
- Winners will be notified by invitation
- Letters may be shared online (first names only for privacy)
Be sure to include:
- Student’s name
- Grade level
- Contact email or phone number
This is one of those simple activities that can have a lasting impact. It gives kids a chance to reflect on what their mom means to them and gives moms a moment to feel appreciated in a very real way.
