Spend a day twisting, flipping, swishing and cooling off at Tampa‰s Adventure Island. Located near Busch Gardens, the park can keep all ages of kids happy and wet for a day. Glide, amble, float, and play.

Guppies (children under 50 inches tall), climb the wet jungle gym and frolic in the vibrant springs and pulsating jets at Fabian‰s Funport. Pint-sized attractions will entertain the kids who are n‰ot seeking intense thrills.

For adventurers looking for more rousing speed slides, grab a few friends and tackle the five person raft ride, Wahoo Run. Riders zoom 600 feet on a group tube at 20 feet per seconds. Or, solo riders can scale a 34-foot peak to spiral and chug to the bottom at Runaway Rapids.

Brave riders may want to brace themselves as they whoosh down a 72-foot slope on a toboggan at breakneck speed on the Everglides ride. Or, race against friends down a 55-foot drop on the Riptide attraction. Hop into a tube to whip down 700 feet of twists and drops on the Key West Rapids slide.

And the Colossal Curl attraction, designed for daring riders looking for a challenge. Gutsy participants are siphoned and gushed down on a mega exciting slide that can be enjoyed with four riders.

More than just water.

To take time away from the slides, cliff jump or catch a wave in a giant wave pool. Or, to really slow things down, mosey through a rain forest on a tube through a half mile of tropical vegetation, fog and waterfalls on the Rambling Bayou ride. Burn some calories on white sand on one of the 6 volleyball courts. Let the kids get soaked under a 1,000 gallon bucket. Climb webs and squirt jets in a tree house filled with toys at Splash Attack.

Adventure Island also has two cafes‰ that serve American style food like burgers, chicken strips, funnel cakes and other meals. Guests, especially on hot summer days, may also want to check out reserving a cabana or hut to ensure shade, chairs and lockers.
