Have you heard of Earl of Sandwich? Well it’s growing in popularity across the Tampa Bay area and this restaurant is sure to please. We had the pleasure of being invited to a tasting of their menu items. Earl of Sandwich is opening yet another location and it will be in Downtown Tampa off of North Tampa Street
We were not only amazed by their signature hot sandwiches, they also have soups, salads, wraps and freshly baked desserts!
There are currently four locations in operation around Tampa and there will be a Dale Mabry location opening later this year. Our visit to the newly opened Earl of Sandwich location in Downtown Tampa was super convenient as it was really close to the John F. Germany Library, The Glazer Children’s Museum and the Straz Center. If you’re in the downtown area then it makes for a great spot to pick up lunch.
With an eating area indoors and outdoors you can cool down from the heat or enjoy the Florida sunshine. While their signature hot sandwiches is what have made them so famous, the rest of their menu choices are great contenders.
Here are some of our favorite Earl of Sandwich menu items
Chipotle Chicken Avocado
This delicious hot sandwich was probably one of our favorites. We could order this one over and over again. The sandwich came with grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar, avocado, lettuce and a perfect amount of heat from the chipotle sauce. The avocado was fresh and their was ample amounts of bacon.
Holiday Turkey
Don’t think this sandwich should only be eaten for the holidays. Filled with turkey, cornbread stuffing, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce & mayonnaise, it’s comfort food all wrapped into a sandwich. Feel free to indulge it’s definitely worth every bite.
Broccoli Cheddar Soup
Our daughter loves broccoli so when I asked if she wanted to try the broccoli soup, she was super excited. She thought it was super yummy. She ate half of the soup and was already full. It came with little crackers as well. She gave the soup an A+ grade.
Berry Chicken Almond Salad
There are many salads to choose from at Earl of Sandwich. We tried out the Berry Chicken Almond Salad. The salad included a fresh spring mix, grilled chicken, fresh strawberries, fresh blueberries, almonds and a side of balsamic vinaigrette. I loved that they were generous with the fruits and almonds and chicken. It really felt like I was getting a “meaty” salad.
Cookies.
Don’t ever leave Earl of Sandwich without getting one of their made fresh daily dessert options. They are moist, chewy and perfect!! It really is that good. So make sure to round up your eating experience with a tasty dessert. Our favorite is the sugar cookie.
Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Who knew a sandwich place could make a decent macaroni and cheese? This wasn’t some boxed macaroni and cheese that came with powdered cheese. This was the real deal. Thankfully my daughter was nice enough to give me a few bites. We both decided that we would highly recommend this cheesy goodness. I like that it comes in its own cute container. It gives it that homemade feel.
Overall, I love that you can pair a sandwich, soup or salad together for the perfect meal at Earl of Sandwich. I would highly recommend pairing your sandwich on your first visit so that you could get a wider taste of their menu, and of course don’t forget the cookies!
