Family-Friendly Tampa Bay Expands its #1 Summer Camp Expos
Second Annual Expos Held at Two Venues: Florida Hospital Center Ice and George M. Steinbrenner Field
Following-up from the success of the Tampa Bay 2017 Summer Camp Expo, Family-Friendly Tampa Bay announces two sites for families to connect with summer camp leaders. The first is on March 24, 2018 from 9am-3pm at Florida Hospital Center Ice—practice home of the gold-medal winning US women’s hockey team– in Wesley Chapel, and the second Expo is at the George M. Steinbrenner Field from 4-7pm to help kick off the Tampa Tarpon’s inaugural Tampa home opener on April 7, 2018.
“We had such an overwhelming response at the 2017 Expo,” said Miriam Cook, Founder and CEO of Family-Friendly Tampa Bay. “Over 2,000 people came to talk face-to-face to camp and activity providers. Our goal is to deliver world-class expos that assist families and local businesses.”
Both expos will feature art, outdoor adventure, sports, academic, music, STEM, and special needs camp exhibitors. Caregivers and kids can connect with activity leaders, camp directors, health and wellness specialists, and family-friendly vendors to make summer planning easy. Expo attendees can participate in family classes, entertainment, giveaways, and fun zones. Additionally, families will be eligible for incentive rewards when they register for camps on-the-spot at the Expos.
The Family-Friendly Tampa Bay Summer Camp Expo New Tampa/Pasco Edition is at the same ice center where the USA Women’s hockey team honed their skills in winning the first Olympic Gold medal in women’s hockey in 20 years. The Expo activities– including character visits, door prizes, photo booth and games–are conducted throughout the Expo while families speak directly with camp providers and summer fun exhibitors. Plus, all of the New Tampa/Pasco attendees will receive a BOGO free skating session at Florida Hospital Center Ice offer when they pre-register at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/family-friendly-summer-camp-expo-new-tampapasco-edition-tickets-41952988518. All activities and parking are free.
Fireworks will conclude the night at the Tampa Edition Expo, which will help launch the Tampa Tarpons (formerly the Tampa Yankees) home opener at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Tickets, which also include workshops, autographs with Tarpon players, kids fun zone running the bases and the inaugural Tampa Tarpon home game (starts at 6:30), are only $1 when attendees pre-register.Parking is free.
“These events and exciting venues give summer camp directors the chance to have a conversation with families so that kids and caregivers can do a deep dive on making their summer fun choices. Parents can get a lot of information in a short amount of time.” Cook said. “We have worked to make sure that these expos are enjoyable for parents and kids so that summer planning is a fun family event.”
Now in its fourth year serving families in Tampa Bay, Family-Friendly Tampa Bay furnishes families with budget-friendly events, deals, and valuable resources to help families spend time together. The site is tailored for visitors and residents to explore Tampa Bay on a budget.
