What is the Summer BreakSpot Program?
As the school year comes to a close for 2019, children across Florida are still in need of food for daily nutrition. Thankfully the Summer BreakSpot program helps to fill in the gap.
The Summer BreakSpot Program, also called the Summer Food Service Program, is a federal nutrition program that local nonprofits and schools use to ensure that kids in their communities don’t go hungry during the summer.
To find a location, visit our meal site locator, text “FoodFL” to 877-877 or dial 2-1-1 when schools begin releasing for the summer break.
At almost all sites, there is no application necessary and any child 18 or younger can simply come during meal times to receive a free meal. Some sites ask that an adult or responsible teen accompany children during the meal time, please check your local site for more info.
