Langston Hughes' Black Nativity In St. Pete

Start a new family tradition with The First Unity Church’s performance of Langston Hughes’ Black Nativity on Sunday, December 14th.

The Black Nativity is a retelling of the classic Nativity story with an entirely black cast. Traditional Christmas songs are sung in gospel style. This unique retelling of the birth of Jesus ChriståÊwill warm your heart .

The Black Nativity is open to the public.åÊAdmission is free. Seating will be provided on a first come first served basis. There are two Black Nativity performances at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec.14th.

Donations are accepted during each performance to support this annual Nativity production.

Langston Hughes is one of America’s most famous poets. His large body of poetic work also included about a dozen plays, including The Black Nativity. If you’re a fan of Langston Hughes then you don’t want to miss this special performance of The Black Nativity this Christmas season in St. Petersburg.
