Thanksgiving Day (Turkey Trot) 5K Races in Tampa Bay

Get ready for your Thanksgiving Day feast by supporting charities in the Tampa Bay area. Here are a few places across Tampa where you can race for a great cause.

Tampa Bay Times Turkey Trot

Now in its 36th year, Tampa Bay Time Turkey Trot provides some friendly competition on turkey day. Proceeds from the Trot will help support many local charities including the West Florida Y Runners Club Scholarship Programs. Donated foods will be given to the Food Pantry Program at Religious Community Services, Inc. Race participants will receive a racing bid and t-shirt.

All races begin at Keene Road just south of Gulf to Bay Blvd. (except the 5k Fun Run) and end in Jack White Stadium at Clearwater High School.

5K Wingding
Begins at 7:00 a.m.
$18 ($23 Race Day)

5K Fun Run
Begins at 7:30 a.m.
$18 ($23 Race Day)

1 Mile Gobbler
Begins at 8:30 a.m.
$14 ($15 Race Day)

10K Turkey Trot
Begins at 8:45 a.m.

Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot

A family-friendly race on the morning of Thanksgiving may soon become a family tradition. The Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot 5k race will take you along The Shops at Wiregrass and Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel. Each participant will receive a race number bib with timing chip integrated, 2014 tech shirt, and a finishers medal. The kids can participate in a 1 mile loop around the mall. Proceeds from the race will benefit the New Tampa Rotary, Feeding America Tampa Bay, and the YMCA.

Cost: October 1st to November 10th: $25
November 11th to Race Day: $30

When: Nov. 27, 2014

5k Start Time – 7:30 a.m.

1 Mile Start Time – 8:15 a.m.

(Registration and packet pickup opens at 6:15 a.m.)

ALSO’s 5th Annual Turkey Trot

All participants will receive a tech shirt and a chip integrated race bib. Participants under 16 will receive a finishers medal. Awards will be given to overall Male and Female winners and each 1st place Male and Female winners in designated age categories will also receive an award. Proceeds will benefit ALSO Youth.

Cost: $30 until November 19th, then $40

When: Thursday, November 27th at 8 a.m.
